A behind-the-scenes look at my process, with a lot of cats sprinkled in.  To see more join me, @darkandstormyceramics, on Instagram.

Here's a process video I wanted to share with you all.  It's lengthy, I know - I couldn't figure out how to speed it up!  Anyhow, I was attempting my first ring bottle, which is a form made by throwing a hollow, donut shape on the wheel.   It's tricky - like throwing a cylinder inside of another cylinder - all the places I normally would put my hands to make corrections are blocked by the inner walls.  Next, you fold down one cylinder over top of the other and seal.  It's a challenging form, and you can see how tentative I am in my hand movements.   After the piece has set up and trimmed, I will stand the bottle up on a foot ring and add a lip.  Hopefully I will have the finished piece soon to show you all!  I learned quite a bit and can't wait to try it again. Thanks for watching :)
